Rijeka Sacral Tour

Feeling spiritual? Hop in our van or a car depending on the size of your group and we’ll take you through a vertigo of
religions and beliefs that shaped Rijeka’s face. We’re starting with the smell of incense in Saint Vitus Cathedral
which got it’s name under the Saint Vitus who’s name was carrying Rijeka in the earliest centuries as from the
protector of the city. This is also the birth place of Rijeka’s literacy.

From the monumental fascist-architectonic built catholic church, over orthodox church in the middle of the city that
hides a great and almost incredible secret to the first Croatian synagogue and most beautiful mosque in Europe…
We’ll go to Saint Mary church in the medieval fortified part of the city which has served as a pilgrimage point for
pilgrims all over Croatia and surroundings as a former residence to Saint Mary’s house which is now in Loreto in
Italy. We move to one of the three remaining synagogues in Croatia and the only built initially as a synagogue which
is a successor of the beautiful first one demolished by the Nazis.

We’ll visit freemasons’ house „Sirius" which was very important during turbulent times after the WWI when Rijeka
attracted most of the world’s celebrities back then and after that we’re finishing in the most beautiful mosque of
Europe proclaimed by the Arabic community where we’ll treat ourselves with the portion of best „Ćevapi"
(Traditional Bosnian grilled minced meat meatballs) in Rijeka.
